Q & A with 2018 Scholarship Winner Katelyn Bange

Q: Where are you from?

A: I am from St. Louis, MO. I have lived in NC since 2016

Q: Where are you going to school and what is your major?

A: Appalachian State University, Majoring in Sustainable Technology and Chemistry

Q: How did you find the Ted Rollins scholarship?

A: I found it on scholarships.com

Q: How has the scholarship helped you in your college career?

A: I plan to put the scholarship money towards my rent for a few months. This is a great help to me, because it means that I can work fewer hours at my job, and spend more time on homework and studying.

Q: What is your advice to others searching for scholarships?

A: It may seem like a lot of work, but college is really expensive! Any amount of extra money you can get towards your education is more stress off your back. Trust me, college is stressful enough on its own!

Q: What are your plans for after college?

A: After I finish up here at App State, I would like to go to grad school at UMass for plastics engineering. I am very interested in plastic recycling, and the current plastic epidemic we are facing worldwide. This is actually what I wrote my Ted Rollins scholarship about!
