Q & A with 2016 Scholarship Winner Kellen Stillman

Q: Where are you from? A: I am from Charlotte, North Carolina where I attended South Mecklenburg High School and graduated in 2017.

Q: Where do you go to school currently and what is your major?
A: I go to Emory University where I study finance and quantitative science. 

Q: How did you find the Ted Rollins Eco Scholarship? 
A: I found the Ted Rollins Eco Scholarship after it was matched to me through Fastweb for my interest in environmentalism and sustainability. 

Q: How has the scholarship helped you in your college career? 
A: The Ted Rollins Eco Scholarship has helped me cover the cost of my books and alleviate financial pressure. In doing so, the scholarship has allowed me to focus only on my academics and pursuing my passions at an incredible university. 

Q: What is your advice to others searching for scholarships?
A: My advice for others searching for scholarships is to apply as many as you can and demonstrate your interest. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and apply for something even if you are worried there will be better applicants- just go for it! 

Q: What are your plans for after college?
A: My plans after college are to pursue a career where I can apply my passion for data analytics to the practice of sustainability. In doing so, I hope to use my college education in an impactful and meaningful way.
